Added slides and backward support for DX10
We want to make BadLands RoadTrip as much fun for as many people as possible and that's why we went out of our way to put this update up just before the weekend.
The first thing we added to this pre-alpha concept demo are big gutter slides. Yes, they support no purpose whatsoever (yet), but in the prototype tests we used these to check the physics and we had a lot of fun with them. It would be a shame not to let you play with them. In the future we plan to use these tubes, gutters and slides for players to be able to do trick shots on unsuspecting enemies.
The other thing we fixed is DirectX 10 support. We found out that the shaders weren't working correctly on video cards without DX11 support, but otherwise these cards could easily handle our game. Cards (among which the old, but beefy NVidia GTX 285) would run at 60fps, but show a weird purple film over every mesh. Also, the modular character shader showed transparent NPC's on these cards. We found out what the problem was, fixed it and now BadLands RoadTrip is also DirectX 10 compatible without selling short on aesthetics or performance.
Have fun with this update!
